Procession against Woman & Children Violence

      ------------------------------------------

 Dear Tony

First and foremost thank you very much to you and the rest of the Cape Town Caledonian band for leading our rally against gender violence.

Each year, thousands of activists from all over the world utilize the campaign to further their work to end violence against women as part of the 16 Days of Activism campaign.  When a woman is abused, the damage extends far beyond her.  Children who grow up in violent households suffer for the rest of their lives.  Besides the physical and emotional scars, these kids often go on to become abusive themselves.  So next time you become aware of gender violence taking place, speak out!  You might just stop a cycle of abuse that could span many innocent lives.  To eradicate this scourge from our area, we need citizens to pledge that they will report incidents to the police or sector watch members.

The march through the streets was a great success; the procession being led by your the Caledonian band undoubtedly contributed to the accomplishment.

Please convey my thanks and appreciation to all involved.

Yours truly,

 Hi Tony

Many thanks to you and your Pipers!!

You created such a pleasant vibe to make our day so much more spectacular.

The motto for the day was to blow a whistle. Well, personally, I don’t think we could compete with you, but it would have been sacrilege to even think of blowing a tune! Thirdly, the pipes are more grandiose than whistles!!!

Your team definitely drew the crowd. I don’t know whether you saw the reaction from the spectators, but we saw a couple of people drying their eyes. It was so beautiful!! And I was so proud to be marching to the beat of your drums.

Please convey our appreciation to each of your members. We wish each member a peaceful Christmas and may 2010 be an extra special year for you all.

Warm regards
